Buttes Chaumont

What to expect on your first visit?

  • A personalized welcome 👋 as soon as you arrive at the gym.
  • We’ll offer you a towel, show you around, and share a few useful tips 🥰
  • Equipment available for rent on-site (climbing shoes, chalk).
  • A relaxed atmosphere 👌: no need to be an athlete to climb.

What should you bring?

Not much – and that’s what makes the experience even easier 😍

At Climbing District, everything is set up so you can arrive with peace of mind: towels, showers, shower gel, and even fresh water are all available on-site. If you’ve booked a discovery session, climbing shoes and harness rental are included. You can also buy liquid chalk directly at the gym.

To feel comfortable during your session, we recommend wearing flexible and comfortable sportswear: a t-shirt or tank top, and leggings or shorts are perfect.

As for climbing shoes, they should fit snugly—sometimes a bit tighter than your regular shoes—but never painfully. Our team will be happy to help you find the right size if you’re renting a pair on-site.

Facing the wall…
5 tips for your first bouldering session

Bouldering or route climbing — switch up your climbing style!

At Climbing District, you’re free to choose your climbing style — bouldering or rope climbing, it’s up to you!

Need a little guidance to get started?

Group lessons are available, and the instructor tailors the session to each person’s level — whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to improve — so you can build solid foundations.

Lessons are structured in three key stages:

  • Warm-up to prevent injuries, using the climbing wall to safely explore vertical movement, balance, self-confidence, and commitment.
  • Falling and landing techniques on crash mats. Learning how to move on the wall — and around the gym — is a crucial focus for the instructor.
  • Practice of climbing techniques and movement skills on boulders or routes adapted to each participant’s level.

The final minutes of the session are dedicated to cooling down and stretching.

The class always ends with a moment of sharing, giving you the opportunity to express how you felt with the other participants.

If you loved your first experience and want to keep climbing, we’ll walk you through all the options available in Paris to continue the adventure.
